You need proxies for Telegram as soon as several accounts run from one computer or server: support managers, bots, channel admins. A separate IP for every account keeps a restriction on one of them from spreading to the whole set and gives a stable connection without drops.
ProxyFarm provides SOCKS5 access with login and password plus MTProto links: dedicated IPv4 from 79 ₽/mo (≈ $0.85) and mobile 4G channels from Russian carriers MTS, Beeline, MegaFon and Tele2 from 490 ₽/mo (≈ $5). Connection details arrive automatically 2 minutes after payment.
Pricing for Telegram proxies
HTTPS and SOCKS5 on one port, unlimited traffic on datacenter and mobile proxies, free IP replacement within 24 hours. 15 % off for a quarter, 25 % off for a year.
Which proxy type Telegram accepts
Telegram supports two protocols: SOCKS5 and its own MTProto. The client does not accept plain HTTP proxies, so an address that works in a browser over HTTP will not connect in the messenger's settings.
A SOCKS5 proxy for Telegram must use login and password authentication: the app asks for both when you add a server. IP whitelisting also works, but only from a fixed address, and on a phone in a mobile network the address keeps changing.
At ProxyFarm, SOCKS5 and HTTPS are open on the same port on every proxy type, so one address serves both Telegram and your browser. More about the protocol on the SOCKS5 proxies page.
Proxies for Telegram: which plan fits the task
The right proxy type depends on what you do in the messenger. One or two work accounts run fine on a dedicated IPv4; for sign-ups and a network of channels, take a mobile channel.
| Task | Proxy type | Price from |
|---|---|---|
| One work account, stable connection | Dedicated IPv4 | 79 ₽/mo |
| Bots and integrations on a server | Dedicated IPv4, SOCKS5 | 79 ₽/mo |
| Many accounts on a small budget | Shared IPv4 | 35 ₽ per IP |
| Account registration and warm-up | Mobile, shared channel | 490 ₽/mo |
| Channel network, sales team | Mobile, dedicated device | 2 500 ₽/mo |
Dedicated IPv4 proxies are issued to one customer only and are available in 17 countries. Every plan can be rented for 1, 7, 30 or 90 days; quarterly payment comes with a 15 % discount.
Mobile proxies for sign-ups and channel management
For registering new accounts and running channels, mobile proxies are the usual choice. The IPs of Russian carriers MTS, Beeline, MegaFon and Tele2 are shared by thousands of real subscribers at any moment, so Telegram treats them far more leniently than data-center IPs.
ProxyFarm runs its own farms in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kazan: 1 284 devices and 99.7 % uptime over the last 12 months. The IP changes by link or by timer, traffic is unlimited, and a dedicated device delivers up to 40 Mbit/s.
Every address is checked against spam databases and for Telegram availability before delivery. If an IP still does not fit, we replace it free of charge within the first 24 hours. Details on the mobile proxies page.
How to set up a proxy in Telegram
- On a phone, open Settings → Data and Storage → Proxy. On desktop: Settings → Advanced → Connection type.
- Tap Add Proxy and choose SOCKS5.
- Enter the server address, port, login and password from your ProxyFarm dashboard.
- Save: a ping value and a green connection indicator appear next to the server.
For MTProto we issue a ready-made tg://proxy link. Open it on the device and tap Connect. Such a link is handy for distributing to staff: nobody needs to receive the SOCKS5 login and password.
Free trial, payment and guarantees
A trial proxy for Telegram is issued without a card: one free hour on a mobile channel on request via the free trial page. That is enough to check the connection on both phone and desktop.
Paid proxies are billed by Russian bank card, SBP instant transfer, YooMoney or USDT (TRC-20). Companies get bank transfer with a contract and closing documents. If the proxy does not work out within the first 24 hours, we refund in full.
The dashboard offers an API, IP whitelist and auto-renewal. Support answers 24/7 in Telegram and by email.
FAQ
Can I buy a proxy for Telegram for just one day?
Yes. The minimum rental period is 1 day; 7, 30 and 90 days are also available. A daily plan is handy for testing before a long-term purchase or for a one-off task.
Do I need to buy an MTProxy separately from SOCKS5?
No. Every plan includes both SOCKS5 access with login and password and an MTProto link. SOCKS5 is universal and works in other software; MTProto is easier to share with a team as a single link.
How many Telegram accounts can run through one proxy?
There is no technical limit, but we recommend one IP per one or two accounts so a restriction on one does not touch the others. For a network of 10+ accounts, a dedicated mobile device with IP rotation is more cost-effective.
Will the proxy work on my phone and computer at the same time?
Yes, one proxy can be configured on several devices as long as they use the same account. If each employee needs a separate proxy, take several dedicated IPv4 addresses at 79 ₽ per month each.
Why does Telegram not connect through the proxy?
Most often HTTP is selected instead of SOCKS5, or the login and password were left blank. Check the address with our proxy checker. If it does not respond, contact support and we will replace the IP free of charge.
